In an effort to keep this guarantee as simple as possible, I
will break it into two parts:
1.) Initial purchase - buyer is required to have the dog examined by a
veterinarian within seven days of purchase. If the veterinarian feels that the
dog in question is unable to fulfill the intended uses for which it was
purchased, the puppy must be returned with written documentation from the
veterinarian for full refund or replacement. At the time of the examination, the
buyer must contract with the veterinarian to complete shot cycle and establish a
parasite prevention program. Seller agrees to supply the buyer with dog's health
records upon buyer's request. If the puppy develops symptoms of canine
distemper, canine parvo virus, infectious hepatitis, or leptospirosis within ten
days from the date of purchase and the buyer presents a statement from his/her
veterinarian indicating that the infection was contracted prior to the sale
date, an amount not to exceed the cash purchase price will be paid by the seller
for the expense of treating the disease, or the puppy may be returned for a
compete refund.
2.) You have until / /
to evaluate this dog. If he/she appears unable to achieve a satisfactory level
of competence in the areas of intended use - for any reason - the seller will
re- purchase the dog from the original buyer for the original purchase price,
within 30 days of transfer of ownership to, and repossession by, the seller. All
transportation costs shall be the responsibility of the buyer. The same buy-back
guarantee applies to any dog failing to achieve an OFA hip evaluation of "fair"
or better (borderline "bad"/"fair" or better for dogs intended for pet use only)
by the time the dog is three years of age. The same buy-back guarantee applies
to any dog which develops an eye problem of such nature as to interfere with its
intended use before the dog reaches six years of age. To qualify for this
re-purchase, the following conditions must have been met: a.) the dog has had
adequate preventative veterinary care and the buyer can show proof of up-to-date
inoculations and heartworm preventative; b.) The dog must be registered with the
American Kennel Club and his/her registered name must begin with the word
"Tugboat"; c.) The dog must be tattooed or micro-chipped, and the seller must be
listed as an alternative contact person, along with the buyer, with a lost dog
recovery organization; d.) The dog must not have been bred without at least
preliminary proof of normal hips and eyes; e.) That the dog is still owned or
co- owned by the buyer.
Rescue - In the case of an animal able to fulfill its intended use, but one
in which the life circumstances of the buyer have changed in such a way that the
owner must give up the dog, the seller stands ready to aid in the placement of
said dog, including providing temporary shelter for that animal while awaiting
placement, if that proves necessary.
I agree to the above conditions:
