I moved to Virginia from the Eastern Shore the year Secretariat won the
Triple Crown. I worked for 17 years at American Medical Labratories - the last
10 years of that as Supervisor of their Special Chemistry Department.
I moved to Culpeper County in 1987 to have more room and time for my dogs.
The person who most influenced my life was not a human, but a dog - the
Chesapeake Bay Retriever - Cocoa King Tugboat. All my present Chesapeakes
descend from him. My current white-hot hope on the field trial circuit is his
great, great, great, great grandson, Chestnut Hills
Ironwood Oak, WDQ*** ("Woody").
Besides the various Labradors and Chesapeakes, I share my home with seven
stray cats and several snakes. What little time I have left after feeding,
cleaning and exercising dogs and working 3 twelve hour shifts at the hospital
(nice thing about the hospital job is it really makes you appreciate cleaning up
dog poop), is spent reading, gardening, and being hypnotized by the boob
tube.
A long time "friend of Bill W's", I enjoy sharing experiences /
aspirations with others of that persuasion, as well as other dog, bird, and
reptile lovers - so feel free to give me a call.
